Restylane is a cosmetic filler that is injected into the mid-layers of your skin to correct wrinkles and folds such as those that from around your nose and mouth by restoring your skin's natural volume. It is a non-animal-derived stabilized hyaluronic acid compound. Hyaluronic acid is a compound that is naturally found in your skin, and Restylane is different from your normally-occurring hyaluronic acid by only 1-1.5%, so it's the most natural injectable filler in production today. The effects of aging are due to a loss in hyaluronic acid, so what better way to fix these effects than by restoring the compound lost?

In addition, because Restylane is not derived from animal products, there is little to no risk of allergic reactions to animal proteins.

Restylane is highly effective in reducing wrinkles, and a treatment takes only 15-30 minutes, while results can last as long as 6 months. The procedure consists of:

• The application of a topical numbing cream to the area to be treated
• The injection of Restylane into the skin
• A brief massage of the treated area may be given
• The Restylane will integrate itself in your skin, so that full results will be seen in about a week

You may experience some minor swelling, pain, and redness as Restylane integrates itself into your skin. This should subside within a week. You should avoid strenuous activity and exposure to excessive heat or sun for at least 24 hours after the treatment. However, if your job is not strenuous, you may return to work directly after leaving the treatment.

Ideally, the treatment's effects can last as long as 6 months, but you can receive touch-ups or adjustments as needed to maintain or refine your look.
